murine MAb against human vWF

Description
The monoclonal antibody (clone ESvWF8) is directed against human vWF. Mice were immunized with human vWF purified by gel filtration of plasma cryoprecipitate. Hybridomas were created by fusion of the immunized spleen cells with myeloma cell P3/NS1/Ag4.1.

Properties
The antibody (subclass IgG1) is directed against the SP1 fragment (aa 1365-2050).
The antibody binds labelled vWF and vWF in human plasma but does not react with plasma from patients with congenital deficiency of vWF.
The antibody does not affect the binding of vWF to platelets or the resultant aggregation following addition of ristocetin.

Presentation
Screw capped vial containing 0.5 mg of purified antibody in PBS, pH 7.2. The IgG concentration is given on the vial label. Spin the vial briefly before opening. No preservative is added.

Storage and Stability
Store the antibody at 2°-8°C. For long-term storage the antibody should be aliquoted and stored at –20°C or colder. It is recommended to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
 
Applications
Immunopurification / Immunodepletion
The antibody retain activity following covalent coupling to insoluble gels and in this form they maybe used for immunodepletion and immunopurification of vWF
Immunohistochemistry
Immunohistochemical localisation of vWF in tissues.
