murine MAb against VLsE Borrelia burgdorferi, Clone 11/9.1.19

Description
VlsE (Variable major protein (VMP) like sequence Expressed) is a 35-kDa surface-exposed lipoprotein of Borrelia burgdorferi. It is thought to play a major role in the immune response against Lyme disease borreliae [1]. This protein has a high variability.
Nevertheless, constant regions could be identified that are suitable as test antigens [2]. IgG antibodies to this protein are formed very early, sometimes together with OspC IgM. Antibodies to VlsE are usually reliably detected even in advanced stages of infection.

Preparation
The monoclonal antibody ADG97 (clone 11/9.1.19) is a murine monoclonal antibody, subclass IgG1 recognizing VlsE. Mice were immunized with recombinant VlsE antigen. The antibody has been purified from cell culture supernatant using Protein G affinity chromatography.

Presentation
Screw capped vial containing 250 µg of purified antibody in PBS pH 7.4 + 0.01% ProClin300. Spin the vial briefly before opening. The IgG concentration is indicated on the vial label.

Storage and Stability
Store the antibody at 2°-8°C. For long-term storage the antibody should be aliquoted and stored at –20°C or colder. It is recommended to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
