Since 1948 Pentapharm (Basel, Switzerland) started researching, developing and producing active pharmaceutical ingredients for the pharmaceutical industry. Since then, the company has established itself not only as a supplier to the pharmaceutical industry, but also as a supplier of diagnostics in the field of hemostaseology.

The company's products are based on peptide substrates, biochemicals, inhibitors, snake venoms enzymes and haemostasis kits. Pentapharm's employees have a broad theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of coagulation and fibrinolysis (hemostaseology). Thus, a special competence of Pentapharm is the development or adaptation of special hemostaseology tests to customer-specific requirements.

Pentapharm AG is the sole owner of the brands Pefakit^®, Pefachrome^®, Pefabloc^® and Prionex^®, Reptilase^®.
